Action Shots
Freezing an action scene or a moving subject
A fast shutter speed can be used to freeze the action. The shutter speed should be set to a minimum of 1/500 sec. and it can be increased to the limit of 1/8000 sec. The shutter speed varies as per the speed of your moving subject. For beginners, it is recommended to set the mode dial as shutter-priority mode (AE) so as to avoid the chances of bad result.
Shooting blur a moving subject
Medium shutter speed is used to shoot a blur image from the moving subject like a running child/animal. To achieve the best, you can set the shutter speed between 1/60 sec. and 1/300 sec. as per the speed of your subject and the level of blur you want to achieve from. Avoid camera shake while using a telephoto lens.
Blurring a flowing subject
If you want to shoot a blur image from a running object like a water fall, spring or a water fountain etc, set the shutter speed between 1/5 and 1/20 sec. Moreover this, shoot your photograph with the tripod stand to avoid possible camera shake.
